Luxury Fine Art Prints - limited editions
LUMACHROME HD UNDER ACRYLIC GLASS (produced by Nevada Art Printers in the USA)
For the USA market, I use the Lumachrome HD printing process offering the ultimate in photographic print quality.
The process begins by taking a transparent photographic sheet (Lumachrome HD) that is exposed by a precise solid state laser and professionally developed, then it gets face mounted behind clear acrylic glass. The face-mounted acrylic is back mounted to a sheet of Komatex or DiBond, an aluminum composite with a polyethylene core that is extremely stable & rigid.
When the viewer is looking at the final piece of art, this transparent photographic layer at the back of the acrylic glass, makes the image look as if light is "trapped" behind the glass, giving off that extra level of 3D dimensionality that surpasses a standard photographic prints under acrylic glass.
The acrylic glass used is TruLife Anti-Reflective Acrylic. This revolutionary product delivers the highest-resolution viewing experience of photographic artwork available today. With lifelike colors, incredible depth and clarity, TruLife is the best way to show high end art.
Some facts about Lumachrome's qualities include:
Brilliant colors lasting over 120 years
Superior gamut vs traditional Fujiflex prints
Incredible 3D depth and dimensionality
Unsurpassed detail and ability to hold highlights
Superior shadow luminosity and detail
Radiant glowing response under halogen lighting
By the time a Lumachrome is complete, you're looking at a breath-taking piece of fine art that has an HD quality to it that comes alive when shown under good light. The beautiful tones, incredible colors and tack-sharp details in a Lumachrome will leave you speechless.
The artwork is finished by a rear recessed floating frame that lifts the acrylic print above the wall and makes it stand out even more. The rear recessed frame adds stability & elegance, and makes mounting very easy and straight forward.
ULTRA-HD PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINT UNDER ACRYLIC GLASS (produced by Whitewall in Germany)
For the European market, I prefer to use UltraHD Photographic Print under acrylic glass. The cost of sending large artworks by courier between the USA and Europe is extreme, therefore it is best to print the artwork in the region where the collector is living.
The only real difference to Lumachrome is that the photographic paper used (Fuji Crystal Professional Archive Maxima) is not transparent like Lumachrome HD. This results in a very slight reduction of the 3D dimensionality when compared to a transparent photographic paper. However, this will only be visible to the most discerning collector. The image quality is in principal the same as Lumachrome HD.
The acrylic glass used is extremely clear and allows for the ultimate image clarity and true colour radiance.
The recessed floating gallery rail for easy mounting is made of elegant aluminum, and not easily visible when the artwork is viewed from the side.
